December 22, 2011 CAVE CITY — Ronald and Deborah Weaver of Cave City have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Danell Ragsdell, to Edmund Hetrick, son of Jim and Brenda Hetrick of Cave City.The couple will exchange vows in a private sundown ceremony Monday on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

Couple celebrates 50 years

December 21, 2011 DESHA — Carlton and Joyce Measels of Desha will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday with a private reception.Joyce Floyd and Carlton Measels were married Dec. 23, 1961, at the home of the groom’s parents in Carlisle. The Rev. I.D. Riddick officiated. Best man was Jim Orlicek, and maid of honor was Patricia Orlicek.Mr. Measels is retired from White-Rodgers/Emerson Electric and enjoys working on the computer. Mrs. Measels was employed at Tommy’s Kingburger and enjoys taking care of a small garden and their pets. Both are active ham radio operators.

Couple celebrates 55th anniversary

December 20, 2011 EVENING SHADE — Skip and Euna Franks of Evening Shade will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary Saturday.Euna Qualls and Skip Franks were united in marriage Dec. 24, 1956, in Batesville with Clyde Hance officiating.Mr. Franks is a retired construction worker and a former security guard with the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville. Mrs. Franks is retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

December 16, 2011 Donald and Vickie Wilkes of Batesville will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday.Vickie Canard and Donald Wilkes were married Dec. 18, 1971, at Swaims Chapel Church. The Rev. Floyd Ramsey officiated.Mr. Wilkes is retired from the U.S. Post Office and is an associate broker at Crye-Leike Batesville Estate Center. Mrs. Wilkes is a homemaker.They have four children, Misty Insell, Daniel Wilkes and Jeffery Wilkes, all of Batesville, and Scott Wilkes of Killeen, Texas.
