    Green, Clouse are now married

    CHARLOTTE — Joleena Jeane Green and Johnathan David Clouse were united in marriage July 19 in a private ceremony in Charlotte.
    The bride is the daughter of Roger and Nina Starnes of Pleasant Grove and the granddaughter of Viola Starnes of Mountain View and the late Alvin Starnes.
    The groom is the son of Carol Clouse and Michael and Patsy Clouse, all of Batesville, and the grandson of Ray and Melba Clouse of Batesville.
    The couple resides in Batesville with their three children, Chasyl, Hunter and Aliyah.

    Critz, Greear unite in marriage

    Miranda Moseley Critz became the bride of Fred Bonham Greear III on Aug. 14 in Little Rock. The wedding and reception took place at Trapnall Hall. Chaplain Dianne Swaim officiated.
    The bride is the daughter of Mary Ann and Jay Critz of Little Rock. She is the granddaughter of Sara and Guy Moseley of Batesville and the late Mariana Ross Critz and the late Julian P. Critz, both of Rogers. The bridegroom’s parents are Ann and Dr. Fred Greear Jr. of Bristol, Va.

    Hughes, Cooley unite in marriage

    DESHA — Jessica Hughes and Tommy Cooley were united in marriage Aug. 14 at Desha United Methodist Church with James Wheeler officiating.
    The church was decorated with ferns adorned with black and ice blue bows atop cathedral pedestals. Photographs of the bride and groom decorated the foyer of the church along with a satin guest book and an autograph picture frame, a gift to the bride from her mother. The unity table was overlaid with a white lace cloth.

    Williams, Moore wed

    Amanda Williams and Bryan Moore were united in marriage July 10 in an outdoor wedding at the home of Hughes and Mary Tugwell in Batesville.
    Edward Pretty Jr., grandfather of the bride, officiated.
    The bride is the daughter of Joe and Sandy Williams of Batesville. The groom’s parents are Mike and Shawn Blue of Batesville.
    The aisle was lined with hot pink rose petals and white chairs with a backdrop of white archways trimmed in hot pink and oversized ferns.
    Traditional wedding songs were played.

    Harmons to celebrate golden anniversary

    DESHA — Jerry and Marilyn Harmon of Desha will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 5 at Desha United Methodist Church.
    Marilyn Casebier and Jerry Harmon were married Sept. 3, 1960, at Imboden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Othea Strayhorn officiating.
    Mr. Harmon worked for many years in purchasing and retired from Airgas in Batesville, where he did safety and repair work. Mrs. Harmon retired from Farm Bureau in Batesville, where she did clerical work.

    Moodys celebrate 65th anniversary

    Myrlice and Lala Moody were surprised with a reception last Sunday afternoon, celebrating 65 years of marriage. The reception was held in the fellowship hall of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
    The couple was married on Aug. 14, 1945 in Batesville. They had met on a bus coming from Hot Springs, when Myrlice was just returning as a soldier in World War II. They were married a week later. On the way to get married, they heard the bells tolling, sirens going off and people yelling that the war is over, and celebrating V-J Day.

    Branscums to be honored for 50 years of marriage

    SALADO — Alvin and Mary Branscum of Salado will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at First Community Bank.
    Mary Candler and Alvin Branscum were married Aug. 25, 1960, by Mr. May, justice of the peace, at his home in Salado.
    Mr. Branscum is retired from B&B Construction. Mrs.Branscum is retired from White-Rodgers.
    They have four children, Tim Branscum and Alvin G. “Buddy” Branscum, both of Salado, the late Pamela Ray Branscum and the late David Wilson Branscum.

    Topley, Crossett wed

    BENTONVILLE — Lisa Topley and Scott Crossett were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony recently.
    A private ceremony was conducted at the home of the groom’s grandmother, Carolyn Hancock, in Conway. A formal beachside ceremony was held July 5 at Barcelo Maya Palace Resort on the Mexican Riviera.
    The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Topley of Peachtree City, Ga. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harry Crossett of Batesville.
    The bride wore an ivory silk halter-styled gown. She carried a bouquet of orange and yellow lilies.

    Fuqua, Polka are married

    ALEDO, Texas — Jessica Fuqua of Aledo, Texas, and Louis Polka of Charlotte were married July 24 in Aledo.
    A reception will be held in November.
    The couple will take a wedding trip to Rome.
    They both serve in the U.S. Air Force as military police officers and are stationed in London.

    Pinkstons to celebrate 60th anniversary

    CAVE CITY — Billy Bob and Billie Jean Pinkston will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City.
    Billie Jean Johnson and Billy Bob Pinkston were married Aug. 25, 1950, in Cave City by James Johnson.
    Mr. Pinkston retired from LaCroix Optical and was mayor of Cave City for six years. Mrs. Pinkston retired from Cave City Pharmacy after 28 years of service.
