Spain trip enlightens graduate

Flooded with questions

August 5, 2008 OIL TROUGH ­- Residents in the small community of Oil Trough know firsthand how flooding can affect their homes and property. In 1982, one woman had 13.5 inches of water in her home when the river reached 42 feet. In 2004 she was luckier, when the river only reached 35.9 feet. This year, the March flood again brought seven inches of water inside her home and the next month she had 12.
