Sneed jailed

February 3, 2009 NEWPORT - A man wanted in connection with an armed robbery in Jackson County has turned himself in, officials say. Late Sunday afternoon, Ronald Ray Sneed was in custody in Independence County and will face the same charges as two others already incarcerated at Newport, according to Jackson County Sheriff David Lucas.

Man shot to death in domestic dispute

February 2, 2009 CAVE CITY - A domestic disturbance in Cave City turned deadly about 9:23 p.m. Saturday when Vernon "J.W." Humphries was shot in the chest with a .40-caliber pistol. The alleged assailant may face a murder charge, authorities said.
