Library tax in JP limbo

November 26, 2008 With only one "no" vote, the Independence County Library one-mill tax will remain suspended for the 2009 calendar year. In a special meeting Tuesday evening the Independence County Quorum Court voted on an ordinance that would levy the library tax to be collected in 2009.

November 25, 2008 MOUNT PLEASANT - It started as a hobby for Ellen Johnson. She was so good at it that friends soon wanted her to do something for them too. Thus, Stitches Embroidery was born in Mount Pleasant.
