Crosbys to celebrate golden anniversary
MELBOURNE — Jerry and Barbara Crosby of Melbourne will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Izard County Fairgrounds Community Building, located on LaCrosse Road (County Road 9) in LaCrosse.
Barbara June Ramsey and Jerry Crosby were married Dec. 8, 1961, in Violet Hill. -
Milligan, Watson exchange vows
CAVE CITY — Megan Ann Milligan and Ryan Adam Watson were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at Fairview Church in Cave City.
The Rev. Aaron Maxwell officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Donald and Kathy Milligan of Cave City and the granddaughter of Tom and Ann Bishop of Batesville and Kimbrew and Lee Owen Milligan of Cave City. The groom is the son of Danny and Denise Watson of Batesville and the grandson of Carrie Watson and Louise Doyle, both of Cave City. -
Couple marks 50 years
EVENING SHADE — Donald and Carol Qualls will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with their family Wednesday at their home in Evening Shade.
Carol Pedano and Donald Qualls were united in marriage Nov. 30, 1961, at First United Methodist Church in Evening Shade.
They are both retired and enjoy spending time with their daughter and their grandson, Brenda and Joshua Harmon. -
Bridgman, Johnson set wedding plans
FLORAL — Fred and Kim Bridgman of Floral have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Danielle Bridgman, to Keaton Johnson, son of Blane Johnson of Bandmill and Leann Johnson of Mount Pleasant.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Oma Lee Bridgman and the late Lindsey Bridgman and the late Janet Hightower, all of Batesville, and the late Alan Ray Hightower of Sidney. -
Weatherfords celebrate 50th years of marriage
John and Lora Weatherford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Scotland and Ireland in July and will celebrate with their children and grandchildren at Thanksgiving.
Lora Jean Ray and John Reid Weatherford were united in marriage Nov. 23, 1961, at the home of her parents in Cushman. The Rev. Everett Fulbright officiated.
Mr. Weatherford retired from General Motors in Kansas City, Mo., in 1993. Mrs. Weatherford retired from the Area Agency on Aging in Batesville in 2003 and is currently serving as mayor of Cushman. -
Duggers to mark 50th anniversary
Larry and Tommie Dugger of Batesville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a drop-in reception from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bubba Hut, located at 50 Bubba Lane in Batesville.
Tommie Johnson and Larry Dugger were united in marriage Dec. 8, 1961, in Odessa, Texas. -
Dobbins to mark 50th anniversary
John and Sallye Dobbins of Batesville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Central Avenue United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, located at 1205 North Central Ave. in Batesville.
Sallye McMillan and John Dobbins were married Dec. 24, 1961, at Central Avenue United Methodist Church in Batesville with the Rev. Dewey Dark officiating. -

HOT SPRINGS — Dr. Jill Morgan Kimmer and John Doss Jennings III were united in marriage Oct. 8 at Fordyce Ricks Estate in Hot Springs.

The bride is the daughter of Larry and Cecile Kimmer of Little Rock, formerly of Batesville. The groom’s parents are John and Kathy Jennings of Maumelle. -
Carr, Brooks to exchange vows
PRIM — Mark and Lynette Brooks of Prim have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Kaitlyn Brooks, to Aaron Carr, son of Terry and Juanice Carr of Greers Ferry.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Odis and Joyce Hipp and Sue Brooks, all of Prim.
She is a graduate of Hilltop Holiness Academy in Prim and is a student at Arkansas State University at Heber Springs, where she is pursuing a degree in counseling.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Jerry and Kathy Carr of Greers Ferry and Jackie and Diana Swaim of Limedale. -
Foster, Hughes marry
SULPHUR ROCK — Rebecca Foster and Rodney Hughes were united in marriage Oct. 8 at their home in Sulphur Rock.
Allen West officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Robert Foster of Wenatchee, Wash., and Sally Foster of Blytheville. The groom is the son of Mary Jane Gillmore of Sulphur Rock.
The groom is the owner of Hughes Construction, Inc. and the bride is employed by the United States Department of Agriculture.
The ceremony was held in the couple’s newly-built and decorated barn. -
Strode, Swinea exchange vows
JONESBORO — Carrie Lynn Strode of Jonesboro and Joshua Ryan Swinea of Batesville were united in marriage Nov. 5 at Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
The Rev. Tom Strode, uncle of the bride, officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Strode of Jonesboro. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Beavers and Juanita Strode, all of Little Rock, and the late Thomas Strode of Englewood, Fla. -
Meads to celebrate 50 years of matrimony
BANNER — Jesse and Barbara Mead of Banner will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Southside Church of Christ fellowship hall.
They were married Nov. 12, 1961, in Weiner.
Mr. Mead has been employed at Arkansas Lime as a supervisor for 39 years. Mrs. Mead worked as a cook and kitchen manager at Southside School System, retiring in 2004 after 24 years of service. They lived at Southside for 35 years before moving to the Banner community.
