‘Back on Broadway’ coming to Batesville
Broadway will come to Batesville on March 7 with “Back on Broadway,” the fourth show in the performing arts series presented by the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville’s Student Government Association and First Community Bank.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the show in Independence Hall on the UACCB campus beginning at 7. Tickets are $10 and available at UACCB and First Community Bank’s Batesville, Southside and Cave City branches.
“Ten star-struck performers arrive in the Big Apple looking for their big break on Broadway. With their newfound book, ‘How to Succeed on Broadway’ how could they possibly fail?” according to a news release for the play. A cast of 10 performers will act out some of the most popular scenes and songs from the latest Broadway hits including “The Producers,” “Legally Blonde,” “Jersey Boys,” “Mary Poppins,” “Avenue Q,” “Mamma Mia!,” “Memphis,” “Anything Goes,” “South Pacific,” “Evita” and “Hello, Dolly!”, among others. “This production features fresh, original arrangements by award-winning composers and an original orchestral audio track recorded by A-team Nashville session musicians. Fully staged and costumed, the show travels with a mobile set and lighting, allowing for quick, easy set-up and minimal crew demands, the release states.
“This show is a great opportunity to see performances from the most successful productions on Broadway,” Brian Berry, vice chancellor for enrollment management and student services, The talent of the cast and the choreography are extraordinary, and best of all, you get to see it right here in Batesville.”
