You know that feeling you get when you slip your hand inside a coat pocket and find money you didn’t know you had?
I had the same feeling last week after getting the mail and finding a self-addressed stamped envelope containing an autographed picture from actress Debra Paget.

Formal charges of terroristic threatening have been filed against a 43-year-old Paris man for threatening to kill his ex-wife who lives in Batesville, according to Independence County Sheriff’s Detective Mike Mundy.
The warrant was issued Tuesday against James E. Hixson after his ex-wife came to Independence County authorities about a phone call she reportedly had gotten from Hixson.
On May 22, the woman told police Hixson had called her and threatened to kill her and take their children and that the conversation was on a speakerphone and was overheard by a witness.

It didn’t matter that she was a young wife and mother living in California with her husband, Simon, or that her parents and siblings were back in Batesville.
Cancer didn’t care.
Jenkins can’t remember what really went through her mind when doctors diagnosed her with breast cancer in 1956. She only remembers thinking of her children and what life would be like for them without their mother.
“I had two babies; I was worried about them,” she said.
