    Intersection to be closed

    On Wednesday, the Independence County Road Department will have the intersection at PepsiCola Road and Allen Chapel Road in Southside closed due to replacing a culvert. The concrete culvert will require the intersection to be closed through Thursday. The Road Department will reopen the intersection when the culvert is properly prepared for traffic use.

  • Man proposes at festival

    A Little Rock man proposed to his girlfriend in front of hundreds of people at the Arkansas Scottish Festival Saturday on the Lyon College campus, and it was in a traditional Scottish way.
    “I’d thought about it for a long time, but the decision to actually do it today has come very, very recently,” Charles Cheatham said. “It was tough to get everything in place as best I could and I thank the Lord he spared us the rain.”
