SULPHUR ROCK — Richard and Ruth Ashcraft of Sulphur Rock recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Ruth McHenry of Long Beach, Calif., and Richard Ashcraft of Monticello were married July 31, 1959, in Winterhaven, Calif.
Mr. Ashcraft is a retired truck driver for Unocal. Mrs. Ashcraft is a retired registered nurse.
They have three children, Charles Ashcraft and his wife, Laura, of Springfield, Mo.; Steven Ashcraft of Ghana, Africa, and Linda Latus and her husband, George, of Sulphur Rock; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
MAGNESS — Sonny and Helen Garner will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Magness Community Center.
Helen Hutchison and Sonny Garner were married Aug. 28, 1959, at the home of the Rev. J.W. Collard in Newark.
They have three children, Tommy Garner and his wife, Nanette, of Newark; Regina Schendl and her husband, Bob, of Denver; and Beverly Garner and her fiancé, Danny Thomas, of Little Rock.
The reception will be hosted by their children.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Fred and Judy Rogers of Greers Ferry and George and Martha Rohrer of Edgemont.
She is a 2003 graduate of West Side High School in Greers Ferry. She is employed as shift manager at Pizza Hut in Batesville.
Harold and Alene Winkle of Batesville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception at 2 p.m. Aug. 29 in the Citizens Bank Community Room in Southside.
Alene Moser and Harold Winkle were married Aug. 21, 1959, in Rosie by George Roberts.
They have three sons, Mark Winkle and Blake Winkle, both of Batesville, and the late Phillip Winkle.
They are members of White Drive Baptist Church.
The reception will be hosted by Mark and April Winkle.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Debra Rapper of Linden. She is the granddaughter of Frank and Alice Stein.
The groom is the son of Larry and Shay Lee of Mount Pleasant and Greg and Barbara Stine of Jonesboro. He is the grandson of the late Jack and Vennie Edwards and the late Bill and the late Noreen Stine.
The couple resides in Bonner Springs, Kan., where the groom is employed by Western Fireproofing.
