On April 17, 1960, Rosie K. Mayo of Crosby, Texas and Albert E. Smith were married in Dallas. In February 1962, they moved to Newburg from Bay City, Texas. After working for a while as the foreman on a Brahman cattle ranch, Albert became the owner of Newburg Equipment Co. Inc. in Melbourne. They also attend Calico Rock Mennonite Fellowship.
