    SOUTHSIDE — Michael and Deborah Rees of Southside have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Ambur Rees, to Donald Welsh, son of Donald and Diane Welsh of West Palm Beach, Fla.
    The bride-elect is a 1999 Southside High School graduate and a 2003 graduate of Missouri State University with a bachelor of science in biology.
    She is a canine handler for the Department of Homeland Security.
    The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Royal Palm Beach High School.

    Dan and Sherry Croft of Batesville will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the home of Jessie and Cleta Hubbard, located at 47 Bufford St. in Desha.
    Sherry Hubbard and Dan Croft were married April 30, 1986, in the home of the bride’s parents with Jim Kemp officiating.
    They have three children, Courtney Croft, Nicholas Croft and Sidney Croft, all of Batesville.
    Mr. Croft is employed by Peco Foods. Mrs. Croft is a teacher’s aide in Batesville School District.

    Bobbie McCance and Don Riley were married April 28, 1961, at the Garrott House on Main Street in Batesville with the Rev. E.P.J. Garrott officiating.
    Mr. Riley is retired from GenCorp and is employed by Cushman Water System. He enjoys fishing. Mrs. Riley is a homemaker. She enjoys being with her friends at Chinquapin Church of Christ. They both enjoy being with their family and watching their grandchildren play ball.
