DESHA — Carlton and Joyce Measels of Desha will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday with a private reception.
Joyce Floyd and Carlton Measels were married Dec. 23, 1961, at the home of the groom’s parents in Carlisle. The Rev. I.D. Riddick officiated. Best man was Jim Orlicek, and maid of honor was Patricia Orlicek.
Mr. Measels is retired from White-Rodgers/Emerson Electric and enjoys working on the computer. Mrs. Measels was employed at Tommy’s Kingburger and enjoys taking care of a small garden and their pets. Both are active ham radio operators.
EVENING SHADE — Skip and Euna Franks of Evening Shade will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary Saturday.
Euna Qualls and Skip Franks were united in marriage Dec. 24, 1956, in Batesville with Clyde Hance officiating.
Mr. Franks is a retired construction worker and a former security guard with the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville. Mrs. Franks is retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
PERRY, Iowa — Gregory and Lori Kautzky of Perry, Iowa, have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Jennifer Kay Kautzky, to Brady Thomas Bulmanski, son of Thomas and Margaret Bulmanski of Batesville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Audrey Rhodes of Chariton, Iowa, and the late John Rhodes, the late Joseph and Rosann Kautzky and Margaret Bose-Kautzky of Golden Canyon, Ariz.
She is a graduate of Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, and the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
Donald and Vickie Wilkes of Batesville will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday.
Vickie Canard and Donald Wilkes were married Dec. 18, 1971, at Swaims Chapel Church. The Rev. Floyd Ramsey officiated.
Mr. Wilkes is retired from the U.S. Post Office and is an associate broker at Crye-Leike Batesville Estate Center. Mrs. Wilkes is a homemaker.
They have four children, Misty Insell, Daniel Wilkes and Jeffery Wilkes, all of Batesville, and Scott Wilkes of Killeen, Texas.
PARAGOULD — Mr. and Mrs. Michael Todd of Paragould have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Ginger Rae Todd, to Aaron Michael Thornton, son of Lakay Thornton of Batesville and the late Kenneth Thornton.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Fred Westmoreland of Jonesboro and the late Flossie Westmoreland, Lynn Tutor and Herbert Todd Jr., all of Wynne.
She is a 2008 graduate of Greene County Tech in Paragould and will graduate in spring 2012 from Arkansas State University with a bachelor of science in social work.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Carolyn Harper of Helena. She is the granddaughter of Carmen Carpenter of Waldenburg and the late Malcolm Carpenter and the late Dr. and Mrs. Bland “BR” Harper of Monette. The groom is the son of Tony and Jill Dockins of Batesville and the grandson of Billie Doyle and the late Ernest J.T. Doyle and Wilma Dockins and the late Lester Dockins, all of Batesville.
CORD — Billy H. and Barbara Britton will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 23 at Cord Senior Center, located at 7925 Cord Road.
