The groom is the son of Bill and Rose Mary Williams of Floral and the grandson of Ellene Cox and the late Adrian Cox of Floral and James and Peggy Williams of Walnut Ridge.
DESHA — Gary and Kim Hardin of Desha have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Candace Hardin, to Jimmy LaBrun, son of Mark and LouAnn LaBrun of Mountain Home.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rocky and Betty Hardin and Bob and Shirley Harris, all of Batesville.
She is a 2008 graduate of Southside High School and is a graduate student with an accounting major at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Roberta Nipp of Marinette, Wis.
PLEASANT PLAINS — Ron and Phyllis McCance of Pleasant Plains have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Erin McCance, to Nathan Rogers, son of Garold and Jackie Rogers of Bee Branch.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Juanita Harris and the late Arthur Harris of Pleasant Plains, the late Travis McCance of Cushman and the late Barbara McCance of Berryville.
She is a 2005 graduate of Midland High School in Pleasant Plains and a 2011 graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with a master of science in speech-language pathology.
MOUNT PLEASANT — W.C. and Ginath Evans of Mount Pleasant will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant.
They were married in 1971 at the bride’s home in Batesville with the Rev. R.A. Bone officiating.
Mr. Evans is retired from Boeing Aircraft. Mrs. Evans worked for Izard County Home Health and is a homemaker.
CAVE CITY — Ronald and Deborah Weaver of Cave City have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Danell Ragsdell, to Edmund Hetrick, son of Jim and Brenda Hetrick of Cave City.
The couple will exchange vows in a private sundown ceremony Monday on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.
DESHA — Carlton and Joyce Measels of Desha will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday with a private reception.
Joyce Floyd and Carlton Measels were married Dec. 23, 1961, at the home of the groom’s parents in Carlisle. The Rev. I.D. Riddick officiated. Best man was Jim Orlicek, and maid of honor was Patricia Orlicek.
Mr. Measels is retired from White-Rodgers/Emerson Electric and enjoys working on the computer. Mrs. Measels was employed at Tommy’s Kingburger and enjoys taking care of a small garden and their pets. Both are active ham radio operators.
EVENING SHADE — Skip and Euna Franks of Evening Shade will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary Saturday.
Euna Qualls and Skip Franks were united in marriage Dec. 24, 1956, in Batesville with Clyde Hance officiating.
Mr. Franks is a retired construction worker and a former security guard with the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville. Mrs. Franks is retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Vickie Canard and Donald Wilkes were married Dec. 18, 1971, at Swaims Chapel Church. The Rev. Floyd Ramsey officiated.
Mr. Wilkes is retired from the U.S. Post Office and is an associate broker at Crye-Leike Batesville Estate Center. Mrs. Wilkes is a homemaker.
