CONWAY — Michael and Leah Chapman of Conway have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Alicia Chapman, to Seth Byers, son of Richard and Janet Byers of Batesville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of LaUna Williams of Stone Mountain, Ga.
She is a 2004 graduate of Conway High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Central Arkansas. She is currently a full-time student and will graduate in May with a doctor of optometry from Southern College of Optometry.
The prospective groom is the grandson of AnneLore Shrable of Gepp.
HAYNESVILLE, La. — Bill “C.L.” and Hazel Satterwhite Cross of Haynesville, La., formerly of Mountain View, celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary recently.
They were married Jan. 22, 1946, at Sidney with Carl Davis officiating.
They have two children, Gail Reeder and her husband, Tommy, of Haynesville and Douglas Cross and his wife, Cindy, of St. Louis.
Jewel Dean “J.D.” and Marian Doyle Carter of Davenport, Iowa, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner Sunday.
Mr. Carter did carpentry work with his father, John David Carter of Evening Shade, and continued carpentry as his lifelong occupation. Mrs. Carter sold real estate for more than 40 years, earning many sales awards. They are now both retired.
FAYETTEVILLE — Jennifer L. Gramig and Rayburn W. Green were united in marriage Jan. 14.
The bride is the daughter of William M. Gramig of Batesville and Janice P. Gramig of Greensboro, N.C. The groom’s parents are Clara D. Green of Idabel, Okla., and the late Charles E. Green.
The couple will reside in Fayetteville.
PLEASANT PLAINS — Noel and Laverne Gilbert of Pleasant Plains will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Plains.
Laverne Mathes and Noel Gilbert were married Feb. 9, 1962, in the home of Lester Wood.
Mr. Gilbert is retired from Banquet Processing. Mrs. Gilbert is retired from ConAgra Frozen Foods. They are members of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
STRAWBERRY — Sonny and Shelia Polston of Strawberry have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Suzanne Polston, to Heath Teel, son of Tony and Linda Teel of Walnut Ridge.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Louise Gray and the late Earl Gray and Doris Polston and the late Jerrell Polston, all of Strawberry.
She is employed by U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service in Newport.
The prospective groom is the grandson of William Teel Jr. and the late Knowles Teel of Walnut Ridge and Opal Wassom of Fort Smith.
PLEASANT PLAINS — Carolyn Gould of Pleasant Plains and Rick and Donna Gould of Floral have announced the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Brittanie Lenea Gould, to Steven Wayne Tate, son of Lois Zena Tate and the late Bobby Joe Tate of Violet Hill.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jimmy and Francis Gould and the late Peggy Gould and the late Ben and Alice Robbins, all of Floral. She is the great-granddaughter of Tressie Coots of Batesville and the late I.J. Coots.
TULSA, Okla. — Katherine Kelley and James Hensel were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 1 at the Kennedy Mansion in Tulsa, Okla.
The Rev. Daniel May officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Kirk and Marcia Kelley of Conway. The groom’s parents are Jim and Susan Hensel of Tulsa.
The mansion is a historic home built in the 1920s which is now a bed and breakfast. It has high ceilings, a ballroom and a grand staircase and is decorated with antiques. For the occasion its decorations included Christmas greenery, bows, wreaths and flowers.
Kelsey Burns and Wesley Brooks were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 31, 2011, at First Baptist Church in Batesville.
Dr. Robert Foster officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Sheila Burns and Doyle Burns, both of Mountain View. The groom’s parents are Dennis and Kathy Brooks of Batesville.
MOUNTAIN VIEW — Crawford A. “Joe” and Helen Maxine Tate Wyatt of Mountain View will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Foothills Baptist Church fellowship hall.
They were married Jan. 17, 1947, in Jamestown.
They have a son, Dr. Kenny Joe Wyatt, and a daughter-in-law, Lynne Wyatt.
The reception will be hosted by their son, daughter-in-law and special friends.
