MELBOURNE — Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hellums will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at 2 p.m. Saturday at the first building at the new fairground in Melbourne.
Thomas Jackson Hellums and Jeffie Lee Thompson were united in marriage on May 30, 1959 at 6 p.m. They have three children: Lyndell Jackson Hellums of West Memphis, Lorenda Gaye Arnold of Melbourne and Laura Kay Rush of Cave City.

EVENING SHADE — Hank and Marlene Rivers of Evening Shade, formerly of San Antonio, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary April 30.
The couple returned to Brenckenridge Park in San Antonio, where they took their first picture. The park is located in Japanese Tea Gardens, which was renamed Chinese Sunken Garden during World War II, but has now reverted to the original name.
