CLARKSVILLE — Nick Salahub hurled a 3-hit, complete-game shutout and the Lyon College Scots collected seven hits en route to a 4-0 victory over the University of the Ozarks on Thursday in a nonconference game at Lonnie Qualls Field.
Salahub (2-1) has only given up one run and seven hits in his last 16 innings and is 2-0, since losing to Henderson State in the season-opener. The 6-foot-9 senior pitcher struck out nine and walked only one for his first complete game of the season and the sixth of his career.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Jazz traded shooting guard Ronnie Brewer, former University of Arkansas Razorback, to the Memphis Grizzlies for a future first-round draft pick.
The trade completed just before the deadline Thursday afternoon should open up some room in a position where the Jazz are well-stocked and reduce the club’s luxury tax burden. But it is costing the Jazz’s first-round pick in the 2006 draft who has started every game this season and averaged 9.5 points.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia — On a day when Lindsey Vonn crashed and Canada’s pride-and-joy hockey team nearly went down, Evan Lysacek stood up strong.
In the biggest event of his life, Lysacek — the reigning world champion in men’s figure skating — didn’t try the most daring routine, but he hit nearly every move he picked. He knew it, too, repeatedly screaming “Yes!” as his music faded.
“It was definitely my best, and that’s what I came here to do,” Lysacek said.
Turnovers, offensive rebounds and missed free throws, in that order, did in the Batesville Pioneers Wednesday night in Pioneer Gym.
The West Helena Cougars ordered up the first two, getting the lead, then the Pioneers delivered on the last, eliminating any chance of a rally.
With that, the Cougars took a 57-46 high school basketball victory over the Pioneers in 5A-East District action.
Two in a row and wanting more.
That’s the thinking of the Batesville Lady Pioneers as they rush toward the finish line in the 5A-East District basketball race.
Wednesday night, they followed up a 13-point victory in Wynne with a 40-22 walloping of the West Helena Cougarettes.
Now, with three games to go in the regular season, all against district foes, the Lady Pioneers need one more win to clinch a berth in the Class 5A State Tournament, which is set for Alma on March 2-6.
FAYETTEVILLE (AP) — Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett is expected to miss spring practice after sustaining a broken bone in his left foot.
Officials said Mallett’s injury occurred during conditioning drills Wednesday morning. He is expected to fully recover in three to four months.
Mallett completed 225 of 403 passes for 3,624 yards and 30 touchdowns during the 2009 season, when the Razorbacks went 8-5. He led the Southeastern Conference in total offense (276.5) and passing yards per game (278.8).
FAYETTEVILLE (AP) — Arkansas responded to its only loss in the last 25 days by getting back into the win column.
Freshman Marshawn Powell scored 16 of his game-high 26 points in the first half as the Razorbacks defeated South Carolina 92-79 on Wednesday night. Courtney Fortson added 19 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
Fortson decided before the game to issue a challenge to Powell, who had scored only 19 points over Arkansas’ last two games.
“Courtney told me I was due for a 20-point game,” Powell said. “He said it a couple times.
CLEVELAND (AP) — LeBron James has a new All-Star sidekick.
The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Antawn Jamison from Washington on Wednesday night, the forward they hope will fit in between James and Shaquille O’Neal on a championship front line.
Jamison was the centerpiece of a 3-team deal that also sent Drew Gooden to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Washington received Cavaliers center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, a 2010 first-round draft pick and the rights to Emir Preldzic, who was selected in the second round of last year’s draft from Cleveland.
