Anime Blues Con nears

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Anime Blues Con, a convention dedicated to bringing art and culture of all things Asian and anime, will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Memphis Convention Center at 255 N. Main St., according to a news release.
Events will include a Cosplay contest, ultimate Pokemon tournament, formal ball and three raves featuring electronic dance music. Registration will be held at the door. A three-day badge to the convention is $45 per person while badges on Friday and Saturday will be $25 each and $15 on Sunday.
Guest panels will include Christopher Sabat, the voice director for “Dragonball Z” and actor behind the characters Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha, Mr. Popi, Kami, among others. Also appearing will be YouTube video game commentator and streamer Kenneth Morrison (CinamonToastKen) as well as Eric Stuart, who has starred in hit shows that include “Pokemon” and “Yu-Gi-Oh!” and toured with rock stars such as Peter Frampton, Ringo Starr and Chicago. Stuart is scheduled to sign autographs in the dealer’s room.
